The origins of my last name in Chile, by means of this modest tribute to my great-great-grandfather Alfred, the sailor, who was shipwrecked near Talcahuano in Julio of 1848, to remain in this part of the world by always. My great-grandmother, my grandfather, my father, who writes and my little daughter: 6 generations altogether.

Eduardo: Realmente me ha parecìdo un maravilloso homenaje a tus raíces. Me parece una suerte bendita que tengas toda esta documentación y hayas hecho un video. Te imaginas para Alejandrita cuando sea más grande y pueda verla con ojos de mujer mayor. Ver a su tatarabuelo, a su bisabuela, a todos sus familiares. Me encantó. Y déjame decirte que el apellido Waghorn ha mantenido su sello partircular desde el tatarabuelo. Tanto en tu abuelo, como en tu padre, en ti y en Alejandrita esta el sello familiar. Más que ser la familia de un náufrago, eres parte de la familia de un gran marino y aventurero.

veo que hace un par de años no hay movimiento en el blog, pero aquí va mi cometario:
Acabo de encontrarme con tu blog, y me ha parecido más que interesante, pues si es un blog de los descendientes de Alfred Waghorn, supongo que debería incluirme ;)
Al parecer somos parientes lejanos. Eduardo Waghorn fue mi tatarabuelo Incluso mi madre vivió en Peumo con él.
El apellido se ha perdido pues se fue heredando por línea materna. Mis tatarabuelos fueron Eduardo Waghorn y Matilde Fuentes, mi bisabuela Raquel Waghorn, y mi abuela Raquel Fuentes Waghorn. Mi madre (Marisol, quizás te suena) y mi abuela mencionaron varias veces a otros Waghorn durante mi infancia, pero nunca conocí a nadie de esta parte de la familia.
Así que eso... solo me presento como otro descendiente de Alfred Waghorn, y tu pariente lejano.
Por cierto, averiguaste finalmente de donde viene la familia?? se supone que los waghorn son ingleses o escoceses, pero hubo Waghorn en Alemania. No tengo el apellido, pero siempre me he interesado por mi raíces.
